A shopping assistant that actually shops.
It searches your live catalog, compares, quotes delivery, applies discounts and checks out, right in the chat.
Everything a shopper can do in the chat.
Each answer comes from a live lookup in your store.
Search like your store does
Your real storefront filters, collections and price ranges. Ask for green, and it filters by green.
The exact variant
On a product page, “this” means the product and option in view. Pick a size or color, and the card switches to it.
Side-by-side compares
Two or three products, one clear advantage each, taken only from the facts that differ.
A cart run from the chat
Add, change quantity, remove, add a cart note or gift message, all in your store’s own cart.
Discounts, delivery, checkout
Applies discount codes, quotes live shipping, pickup and tax for an address, then opens checkout.
Orders and tracking
Signed-in shoppers see their recent orders with tracking links, and use their saved addresses.
Six skills, built in.
Playbooks for the questions that decide a sale. Each one has its own switch.
Returns and exchanges
Answers from your written policy and the shopper’s own order.
Sizing and fit
Uses only your size guide. Never guesses from other brands.
Gift finder
Asks who it’s for and the budget, then shortlists two or three.
Complete the look
Pairs items with what’s on the page or already in the cart.
Preorder and sold out
Quotes your restock policy and suggests what’s in stock.
Brand voice
Speaks in your tone. Tone changes the wording, never the facts.
It never makes things up.
Every price, stock level and delivery rate comes from a live lookup in the same turn.
- Names only the products, prices, stock and rates it looked up that turn.
- Won’t add sold-out items, and changes the cart only when the shopper asks.
- Reads product copy and pages as information, never as instructions, so text in your catalog can’t steer it.
- Rate limits per shopper and a daily spend ceiling per store.

- Stock
- Delivery rates
- Your policies
Answers from your store, not the internet.
Nothing to upload. It reads your store during setup and keeps up as you publish.
Your policies
Returns, shipping, privacy and terms. Edits sync when Shopify reports them.
Your published pages
About, FAQ and the rest, re-checked every 12 hours. Unpublish a page to keep it out.
Your store
Store name and description, so it knows who it speaks for.
Your live catalog
Products, prices and stock, looked up for every question. Never a stale copy.
Speak up at the right moment.
Start the conversation on the page, the variant or the add to cart that matters. No code; up to 24 triggers, run in the order you set.
- When
- A page opens, a variant changes, an item is added or removed, the chat opens, or a shopper says something like a phrase you choose.
- Where
- Home, product, collection, search or cart pages, or the products, collections and pages you pick.
- Only if
- The cart is empty or not, this product is or isn’t in it, or it’s sold out.
- Wait
- Right away, or up to ten minutes later.
- Then
- Show products, recommend pairings, open a collection, search, start a questionnaire, or say a message.
While the chat is closed, a trigger shows a short label by the launcher; while it’s open, it runs right away.
- These go well with your boots:
Four triggers, on from day one.
Added when you connect your store. Edit them, switch them off, or bring them back with one button.

Guided selling, inside the chat.
Ask a few questions, then search the live catalog with the answers.
- Up to 10 questionnaires, each with up to 8 questions and 2 to 5 options.
- Shoppers tap an option, write something else, skip or stop.
- The answers become a live search of your catalog, not a fixed result.
- Started by a trigger, or by the assistant when a shopper needs help choosing.
- Asked in the shopper’s language, in your order, never made up.
Your brand, down to the font.
No developer needed. Every change shows in a live preview, on desktop and phone.
Colors
Brand, background, text and border, with a contrast check so text stays readable.
Fonts
Any Google Font, or your own in regular and bold. Body and headings set separately.
Words
The chat title, a greeting with bold, italics, lists and links, the input hint, and up to three suggested questions.
Launcher
Bottom left, center or right, to stay clear of your theme.
Custom CSS
For the last detail, a CSS editor right in the admin.
Tone changes the wording, never the facts.
Tell it about your brand, what you sell and how you talk. Leave it empty, and it uses your Shopify store details.
- About your brand
- Ridge makes boots and layers for wet, rocky trails, built to be repaired.
- What you sell
- Hiking boots, trail socks, rain shells, care kits.
- Tone
- Warm, concise, never pushy.
Same price, same stock, same answer. Only the wording moves.

Into your store’s own cart, then to your checkout.
Frequently asked questions.
Does it use my cart and checkout?
Yes. Items go into the same cart your theme uses, and checkout is your Shopify checkout. There is no separate cart.
Can it make up prices or stock?
No. It only names products, prices, stock and delivery rates that a live lookup returned in the same turn, and it won’t add sold-out items.
Which languages does it speak?
Replies follow the shopper’s language, and prices follow Shopify Markets for their country and currency. The chat’s own labels are in English.
Can I turn skills off?
Yes. Each of the six built-in skills has its own switch in the Valence admin.
How do I keep a page out of answers?
Unpublish it in Shopify. Valence only reads published Online Store pages.
Will triggers annoy shoppers?
A trigger runs at most once per conversation for a product (add-to-cart triggers can run on each add), and while the chat is closed it only shows a small label by the launcher.
